About Infinite Dance Studios | Geelong Victoria Australia

Entering its 13th year in 2018, Infinite Dance Studios has developed an impressionable reputation in the Geelong community, offering over 300 students each week an experience to develop and become the finest dancer they can be.  Infinite Dance Studios offers classes and workshops in a wide range of genres including; Ballet, Jazz, Tap (classical & industrial), Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Boys Only Breakdancing, Fairy Ballet, Contemporary & Lyrical catering for all students beginners to advanced, pre-school to adults.

Christie Walter started dancing at the age of six, specializing in Jazz and Tap.

She danced with two local Geelong dance schools before finally joining Infinite Dance Studios in their opening year of 2006, taking classes in Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Classical Ballet.

Over the years she has been involved in various school theatre and regional productions, leading her to her debut in musical theatre as Cassandra in Footlight Productions’ Cats in 2012.

Christie has since done several more shows, including The Phantom of the Opera with Geelong Lyric Theatre; My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins and Wicked with Footlight Productions; Evita with CenterStage; and in 2018 will be playing one of the ‘Chorus Girls’ in 42nd Street, again with CenterStage, where she will also be Assistant Choreographer to Fiona Luca-Kingsbury.

Christie also choreographed the Sacred Heart, St Joseph’s College and Collard school production of Big Fish in 2016.

Christie’s other credits include screen acting work in various commercials, short films and television shows, including Blue Heelers, Stingers and the 2001 television movie, Child Star: The Shirley Temple Story. In 2010, she was fortunate enough to travel to Los Angeles for a short acting program at Stella Adler Academy of Acting.

In 2011, Christie and two other Infinite dancers formed an industrial tap trio called ‘Tap That’. Tap That won the Streets Are Alive completion that same year and were asked to audition for Australia’s Got Talent in 2011 and 2012.

Christie began working at Infinite in 2007, teaching classes and performing administrative duties, eventually becoming Administration Manager.

She is delighted to have seen the studio go from strength to strength and was very honored when she was asked to take over as Director from July 2017.

‘I am very excited to take on the role of Director of Infinite Dance Studios. This is a wonderful new chapter for me and the studio. I love everything that Infinite stands for and the way every student can come to class and express themselves in their own way through dance.’
